I
used to think that because I wasn't doing something that everyone else was doing, that
it was wrong. I then realised that doing what I wanted to do made me who I am -
unique.
If
it makes me different from everyone else then so be it. I’m not saying that you
should go out of your way to be super crazy, but to embrace your quirks, your
aspirations, your dreams and know that nothing is beyond your reach if you make
the effort to get there.
We all have those moments when we’re feeling as if our worth is not as great as others make it out to be but know one thing: no matter how much you want to hide away and feel miserable, there is always that one thing – a new internship – or that one person – your sister, your mum or your friend – that comes in just at the right time and restores all the hope that you once had and lost.

Every single one of us has those fears and those worries that somehow work their way into our brains, hell I have them every day over the smallest things, why? I have absolutely no clue! I guess we’re afraid of the unknown. Those little parts of our lives that we haven’t quite explored yet: the working world, the interviews, the universities, meeting new people for the first time, having to stand up in a room full of people to tell them what you’ve been up to in your last project, scary presentations in front of the class…the list goes on and on. I have yet to experience some of these things but when it comes to facing them, I’m going to take a deep breath and believe that there is nothing I can’t do, if I fail the first time I will try again and again until I get it right. There are two quotes about failure that I abide by: “I haven’t failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work” and “Failure is only the opportunity to begin again intelligently”.
Each and every time you think you’ve failed, read these quotes to remind yourself that it’s okay – hey we’re all human at the end of the day! You may not have gotten it right the first time but you will get it right and it will feel great because you know that you got there because you did NOT give up.
XOXO
